1920s
The Schaaf Quickfiller Pen in red mottled
hard rubber. I like to think that I am
familiar with most fountain pen companies,
but this is a new one to me, Schaaf of
Toledo. It's a large, handsome slip cap
pen with a unique (in my experience)
filler, a sort of rod inserted into the
sac. I'm not sure how much use you'll
get from this one, but it is interesting.
There is considerable wear to the imprints
though they are readable and some fading.
It has a nice, though rippled, flexible
Waterman's 4 fine nib. $275 |
