2001 Replica Pelikan Lapis 101. This beauty was made for me in 2001 by Tom Westerich of Penboard as a "placeholder" until I got a real lapis 101. It is one of probably only two or three, and was made of the same material used by Visconti for the "Originals of Their Time" series. It is discreetly marked "Penboard" on the Binde and "2001" on the captube. In 2005 I was offered $1500.00 for it by a noted European collector, but I would rather see it go to a member of our own Pelikan community. The nib, which can be interchanged, is an oblique fine with good flexibility. The price is PE11353 Note: Tom Westerich has informed me that there are precisely two of these, mine and his, and that it is not made of Visconti celluloid but of vintage lapis celluloid. |
