Description: | |||
1929 Pelikan. Technically these are not 100s, the numbering system dates to 1931. This is a first year pen, one of four we have right now. This pen is complete and correct with bakelite body, hearthole nib, plain captube and straight captop. The green striped binde is probably the earliest iteration of the famed Pelikan green. Sometime romantically called clouds, it is similar to Sheaffer jade. The binde on this pen is as close to perfect as you are likely to get. In fact, it may be cleaner than the pen that is replacing it in my collection. I keep going back and forth, so get it now. The whole pen shows remarkably little wear, an extraordinary piece. The fine nib shows good flex. PE981 |
